The picturesque market town of Romsey in Hampshire sits beside the lovely River Test. It is home to a multitude of small independent retailers and its winding streets add to Romsey’s charm.
The Romsey Heritage and Visitor Centre, which combines the King John’s House and Tudor Cottage with a former Victorian gun shop, makes for an enjoyable visit. The 13th Century King John's House was once the centre of a medieval complex and visitors can see features such as the roof timbers; graffiti cut into the medieval plaster and a rare bone floor.
