Itinerary

Day 1 MONDAY Our coach makes its way north with suitable refreshment stops, arriving at our hotel late afternoon.

Day 2 TUESDAY This morning we head to Settle, where we board our train for a 45-minute journey on the Settle/Carlisle railway to Kirkby Stephen, winding through moorland scenery and crossing the famous Ribblehead Viaduct on the way. We next visit Hawes, a lovely market town with many cafés and pubs where you can get lunch.

Day 3 WEDNESDAY After a leisurely breakfast, we visit Skipton to enjoy a one-hour cruise along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. Back in Skipton, explore the popular Wednesday market close to the town’s impressive medieval castle, get some lunch or sightsee. In the afternoon we board our heritage train at Embsay for a one-hour return journey to Bolton Abbey Station.

Day 4 THURSDAY We travel to Oswaldtwistle Mills, where you’ll have free time to browse the wide variety of shops before reboarding the coach for a fascinating guided tour of Pendle Witch Country. We will meander through the stunning Lancashire countryside surrounding Pendle Hill hearing chilling tales of devilish deeds and wicked acts that led to the execution of ten alleged witches in Lancaster in 1612 - stories steeped in mystery, superstition, folklore, and local legend that still captivate visitors today.

Day 5 FRIDAY We travel south stopping in Stratford-upon-Avon for lunch and sightseeing. We reach the local area early evening.
